I need some advice? I'm a 19 year old looking for an honest answer?

Ok I'm 19. In college. I'm getting really irritated by people asking me a stupid question. My stepmom was having her birthday party last night. I came in from the gym. I'm fixing me a plate & one of her friends came up to me. She asked me how I liked college & work & stuff. Then she asked me if I had a girlfriend. I said no. She asked me why not. I said I just don't want one right now. So I went in my room to eat & came back to the kitchen to put my plate away & another one of her friends came up to talk to me. We had the same conversation & she asked the same question, "Why don't I have a girlfriend?" I got asked this question all throughout high school. My family used to ask me this question until I told them to stop. A few people at my college have asked me this as well. My question is "Why do people want to know my business?" I mean I've never had a girlfriend. Big F*cking deal! I don't plan on getting one for a very long time. This confuses people. Has society & the Hollywood media really taken over peoples' brains about being in a relationship when you're 7 years old? I'm still a kid. What's the big deal?
