English countryside outside of London?

You can find countryside IN London let alone outside. Now tell me which other major city has that! You just got to know where to find it. I personally like like South London particulary Croyden near Surrey. You can find green rolling hills and farms and woods. Its near the Downs of southern England and i ind it attractive and green. Its an expensive area to live though!.
