Did the John Paul II suspect he was going to be shot?
The Vatican has stated that yes the third secret pertained to an ination attempt on the Pope, however, in 1985 the secret was not yet released, so in order for that to have been valid Mahmet ali Agca would have had to have had some revelation of his own. The official report claims that it was ordered by the KGB, to which Mehmet has given multiple conflicting statements involving not only the KGB but others, including the Vatican itself. After the attempt, the Pope forgave Mehmet they exchanged quite a few letters as well as the the visiting not only him but his family as well.
