What were epidemics that happened in history?

There have been plenty -- most notably the Black Death (bubonic plague) that destroyed 1/4 to 1/3 of the population in Europe in the middle ages. The Spanish Influenza of 1919 killed more people than WWI. I was just reading about the epidemic of typhus that followed the general famine in Europe in 1815.
