Jehovah's Witness: Why do you condemn Christmas? Her is a biblical answer!?
Okay...so I get asked by a Jehovah's Witness if Christmas should really be celebrated by Christians. It's already well known that Chrismas has a lot of customs, and including the date with Yule. The Yule log, the Christmas Tree, the wreath, mistletoe, giving preasants...most people who do a bit of research can tell you these things. Here is a biblical answer, and it's more obvious than you think. The three maji from the east who came sometime AFTER Jesus's birth came to visit Jesus to celebrate his birth. They knew this by way of astrology...allegedly....through a conjunction between the Sun, Jupiter, and Saturn. They were gentile, and no doubt pagans...perhaps Zoroastrian priests. They gave Jesus CULTURAL gifts. Myhrr, Frankenscence, gold, and maybe some oils. These were gifts brought from thier TRADITIONS. It's the BELIEF that matters, which is Christ's birth, and the spirit of GIVING. Traditions are culturally nuetral. It must traumatize children too, not to celebrate Christmas or birthdays too. Have you ever noticed that "Kingom Hall" looks like an office building? lol
