How do I reduce the amount of hair my dog sheds around the house?

My dog is a Choc. Lab/Mastiff mix with dark brown short fur - I vac every afternoon, and clean the crown molding of my floors w/the dust buster. He gets groomed twice a month, but there is still fur on my floors, and pretty much everywhere else constantly. Is there anything I can do to keep my dog from shedding all over? He went to the vet recently so I know he is healthy....Hes a great dog so he stays either way, but I'd love some advice. Thanks!
