What is going on with my ear?

I wasn't able to sleep last night because I was having really bad pain in my ear and teeth. Nothing is helping I've tried every home remedy I could, and I've taken pain reliever. When I finally fell asleep I didn't sleep well because the pain got more intense throughout the night, when I woke up this morning there was a huge chunk of ear wax out of the ear that has been hurting. The pain has gone a way a little bit since then but still bad enough. Is this an ear infection? Why is it affecting my teeth? I hear perfectly fine out of my ears. I also had tubes put in my ears about 18 years ago and they fell out maybe 3 to 5 years ago. Is it possible I need tubes again?
