What makes Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) so cool as a superhero?

Superman was born with his powers. Batman is a self-made hero. Spider-man gained his powers by accident. Hal Jordan was hand selected based on his lack of fear, his will power, and his integrity. That is something that none of the major heroes can claim. Hal can handle any situation he is placed in because of his calm and collected nature. The same nature that makes him a great test pilot. He's tough, smart, and brave. Other heroes have stated in the past that Hal is the hero that they look up to the most. He also has the most powerful weapon in the universe on his finger.That helps too.
